Look at this beautiful school bus! Thanks to your generous donations, Random Acts was able to donate a total of $15,000 to the Free High School of San Juan del Sur in Nicaragua, allowing them to finally buy a bus for their students.
The bus will provide students with easy, direct travel to and from the school. It’s already having a major and positive impact on the students! The bus will also be self-funding, as the school will be able to hire it out to other organisations when school is not in session.
All in all - good job, you guys! You’re amazing and we ♥ you.
What a way to start 2013!
Thank you so much!
Come on, Tumblr! We can finish this!
That ticker for the Free High School’s bus is creeping up! We’re $1,170 away from our goal of $5,000 - surely we can take off $170 before the weekend to get it below $1,000. That would be amazing.
Every cent counts. It’s time to knock it out of the park!
The Free High School of San Juan del Sur is a non-profit organisation providing access to adolescents and adults excluded from regular high schools. That means women with children, people over the age of eighteen, people who work all week, and people who live too far from daily schools.
Many of the school’s students travel for hours (and some even travel for days) on unreliable and crowded public transport to reach their classes. Education is vital for the future of any nation, and Nicaragua is one of the poorest in the world.
That’s why we want to help them get their bus. Please help us get it done.
We were so impressed with your bravery and thoughtfulness throughout 2012. 2013 is barely three days old and we’re impressed all over again - you’ve taken us within spitting distance of the school bus!
There’s only $1,660 to go. Let’s start 2013 as we mean to go on and get this done!
